In April 2006 the water level in the Danube river was higher than normal and there was a risk of flood. Many people were afraid of that and went out of the town. Others like me, stayed here and watched each day what's going on. In fact, I wasn't afraid at all. That's because I live in the highest place in Vidin. I think people were afraid because the television showed it in a frightening way. Many friends and relatives of mine who live outside Vidin asked me how we managed to overcome the disaster and I merely answered that I go to the park every evening and take photos. They were really confused. We even didn't go to school for a week or two!
